Study Memorizing vs Reasoning

The big dilemma when it comes to studying for an exam, and usually, we opted for memorization under the criterion of "passing the exam", Well, in the traditional school, questionnaires and responses intact, literal or "machetito" is what was accepted.
Today we know that it is much more important to retain and apply information when you are acquiring knowledge, otherwise it is done only for the moment, to memorize, It is true that it is achieved with practice and experience and it is a process in the study, We do not say that it is wrong to do it but you have to reason and put into practice what you memorize, and not only through a process of repetition.
Definitely to prepare for an exam there is a difference between studying with reason and studying completely by heart.
Reasoning needs memorization but in context with the content of the knowledge to be studied, However, when it is studied only by memory, it is the retention of words in order to capture or say them intact in an exam but without understanding well what it is., how they are related and how they could be applied in the future.
Then, studying reasoning is the best and most optimal way to acquire knowledge, since memorization study is not helpful.
Study with memorization
- When studying by memorization only, you do not have the knowledge of the subjects studied, maybe you can understand separate parts but it is about retention without understanding.
- When it is studied by memorization it means to have the order and the perfect form of the texts, even forgetting a single word loses all content by not matching, and there is no possibility of explaining it in other words because what has been learned is not being reasoned, also runs the risk of completely changing the context of the sentence.
- A comma cannot be altered, a point, since the information is recorded in sequence and not randomly, to be able to answer a question the entire block must be remembered, taking another risk: to forget everything.
- To weeks, or months of memorized knowledge, the topics are no longer remembered, namely, If you had to repeat the exam, you would have to go back to memorizing from scratch since knowledge is not acquired in the least.
- The memorized or studied topic cannot be related to others, can't be compared, to reason, or analyze with other concepts as it would be impossible to answer a question.
- The best and worst is that it is detected by the masters, since they usually know the books, notes, questionnaires, etc, In some cases it does not matter as long as it is intended to approve with a number but if they wanted to make a sequence of application of topics, we would really have to discard what was studied.
Study reasoning
- It gives the opportunity to know and understand what is studied, Well, before memorizing, an analysis has been made on the topics in parts and elements, also understood to be integrated.
- Words should not be memorized literally, exact and precise, They can be changed with synonyms in this way, even the vocabulary is expanded, can rewrite paragraphs more functionally and effectively, that allows to remember the content. Topics can be easily remembered by reasoning.
- As time passed, of the exam or that the content was studied, the information can be remembered, concepts and you can apply them, analyze and understand them for a longer time because it was recorded in the brain.
- With reasoning, comparable associations and links with other topics can be made, In addition, the exam questions are simple and the answers can be constructed at the time of the exam without having to have the exact words.
- The teacher will not be able to see literal answers, but even with words other than textbooks or study syllabi, the student was able to answer them correctly given the reasoning that has been carried out.
Then, memorization study is misleading, it seems that the subject is known and learned but in reality knowledge is not acquired or recorded. It is not recommended to study in this way because if it is to pass a subject the grade will only be a number but in a career you will not be able to apply what you have learned, however when you reason you will always know what you are studying.
